Details
Jurich Phillip Kress was born on February 16, 1696 in Germany. He was possibly the son of Phillip Caspar Kress and Anna Maria. He married Eleanor Biederman on May 3, 1720. Together they had 3 sons:
John George Kress born about 1732
George Henry Cress born about 1739 who may have been a American Revolutionary War Veteran and the same George Cress as in the book "One Tough German" by David Attride. If this is true, then George Cress was a 1st cousin to Johann Nicholaus Heinrich Kress, and that could explain the DNA difference of their supposed descendants which David speaks of in his book.
Jacob Cress born about 1741. The only story I've seen regarding this Jacob is that he apparently stole a two cows and brought one of them to Philadelphia. He was punished with 100 lashes.
I have no information on any other children from Jurich at this time.
Jurich passed away about 1780 in Littletown having lived a long life for the time reaching the age of about 84.
Jurich was possibly the uncle of Johann Nicholaus Heinrich Kress and his siblings.
Jurich Phillip Kress was not listed as a son of Phillip Caspar and Anna Maria in Kress Family History by von Frank. He does not appear in the large family tree there. It is still possible that he was a son of Phillip. I argue this because it is around this part of the family tree where we know with certainty that branches and descendants were missing from that family tree. With that said, it also appears that Jurich may be confused for or matched to Phillip Samuel Kress. We do not have any evidence of a spouse or children for Phillip Samuel Kress. Is it possible that Jurich was Jurich Phillip Samuel Kress? Maybe Jurich has been mismatched to the wrong household and is not a son of Phillip Caspar.
What is known is that Jurich Phillip Kress immigrated to America, married, and had children who carry the name Cress.
