To the Coat-of-Arms of the Kress

Poem
To the Coat-of-Arms of the Kress
To the Coat-of-Arms of the Kress
Why, O shield of the Kress, hast thou menace red
And a fiery sword with its double edge?
Fairest Goddess of Justice bade thee smite,
Not with bloodthirsty spirit but for right.
Hence thy buckled armour for hearth and home
Against hostile bands, who ever do roam.
Peril of faith, dread terror of light,
Brave man of Kress, we honour thy fight.
