O Noble Kress

O noble Kress: Thy insignia, head of a man with

a sword in his mouth, brings to our consciousness

the consoling thought that, as the might of the Divine

Word destroys the hosts of the arch enemy, so will thy

heaven-blessed sword reap death to the sinful body.

Thy shield, borne in defense of righteousness and thy

holy helmet of faith, reflect the radiance of the stars

in heaven's bright diadem. Armed with these God-given

weapons, the enemy in confusion throws down his arms

ere the conflict is begun; without bloodshed they

victory is won for righteousness and the good cause.
